> How to Get a Credit Card for Those with Bad Credit |
|
|
If
you have bad credit, for whatever reason, you may think you won't be able to
get a credit card. But there are ways to fix your credit problems, and even
get credit cards if you want to.
Instructions
Step 1
Start by fixing your credit problems. If you have bad credit, there are ways
to overcome it. You can look for a free credit counseling service that can
help you to consolidate your debt and get negative marks removed from your
credit reports.
Step 2
Start building up good credit again. Keep up with paying all of your bills
on time, keep both a checking and savings account, get a secured loan or
secured credit card. If you can't afford to build up your good credit while
repairing the bad, concentrate your efforts first on taking care of any old
debt or bad credit reports.
Step 3
Apply for an unsecured credit card. You can start with the bank where you
keep your checking and savings accounts. Even if you still have bad marks on
your credit, your bank may be willing to see past that if your history with
them is good.
